“What to bring to camp”- Outbound Summer Camp Camp Fortune

The Bus transportation schedule is as follows (for those who signed up did the bus):

If you have already paid and signed up for the bus, this is the Bus transportation schedule:

This year we will be adding a second bus with a new pickup at Place d’Orleans. We will now have two different bus routes to all of our great camps at Camp Fortune and less time spent on the bus commute. Be advised that pickup/dropoff times have changed from previous years.

BUS #1

1.  Kanata Signature Centre (near Dairy Queen 499 Terry Fox Dr.):

Departs 7:45 am Return 5-5:15 pm

2.  Pinecrest Shopping Centre (near Starbucks. 2735 Iris St.)

Departs 8:15 am Return 4:30-4:45 pm

BUS #2

  1. Place d’Orleans (near The Bay) Departs 8 am Return 5-5:15 pm
  2. U of Ottawa 200 Lees                                                                      

Departs 8:30 am Return 4:15-4:30 pm

If you are driving your child to Camp Fortune:

Camp Fortune 300 Dunlop Rd., Chelsea Quebec Return starts. We will have free pre-care from 8am‬-9am and post-care from 4pm-5pm.

dropoff/pickup for the camps will be out of Alexander Lodge. When driving up to Camp Fortune on Dunlop Road, you will stay straight on the road (do not turn left towards main chalet) and drop off your child off at Alexander Lodge (blue building on hill on right side after the first aid building). All campers are asked to stay at Alexander Lodge and not explore.  Between 9-9:10 am campers and staff will depart to our camp headquarters at Maple Lodge to the Aerial park.

What to bring each day to Camp:

– Lunch plus morning and afternoon snacks (must be NUT FREE)

– Sunscreen/hat

– Bathing suit and towel

– Closed toed shoes

– Rain gear (most of the camp is outdoor unless it is storming)

-extra clothes

Children are expected to demonstrate basic respect for the dignity and rights of other campers and staff. National Kids Camps and the Ottawa Catholic School Board reserve the right to suspend or terminate enrolment of any child who displays any behavior that violates the following guidelines: 1) Zero tolerance of physical and verbal assault, harassment, discrimination and psychological abuse 2) Respect for the property of others.

Campers should not bring cell phones, electronic toys or similar items to camp. National Kids Camps, Camp Fortune and the Ottawa Catholic School Board will not be responsible for loss or damage of property belonging to campers. Children can communicate to parents through our head staff.
